The dates that matter to a voter
The Central Elections Committee publishes a full statutory timetable — dozens of rows, each with the section of law it derives from and a countdown to election day. Most of it is addressed to parties, regional committees and polling committees. These are the rows that concern you directly:

Three things worth noticing
The holidays fall inside the campaign. The timetable marks them itself: the eve of Rosh Hashanah is 11 September 2026 — the same day the register-petition window closes; Rosh Hashanah 12–13 September; Yom Kippur 21 September; Sukkot from 25 September; and Simchat Torah 3 October. Anyone planning a bureaucratic step in this period should account for closures.
The lists are not final yet. Submission is not approval. Approval of candidate lists is set for 27 September 2026, and their publication for 18 October 2026. Until then changes can occur, including the deletion of a candidate or a refusal to approve a list.
Polling places are formally published only on 20 October 2026. The information available earlier — including what the call centre gives out — is preliminary, and from 7 September 2026 it is final at ministry level. We covered this in the article on checking your polling place.
