Sigd 2026 — dates and details
The date for Sigd 2026
29 Cheshvan 5787, Monday, November 9, 2026. The holiday has been a national Israeli holiday since 2008 (the Sigd Holiday Law, 5768-2008).
> Correction (Sept 8, 2026): an earlier version of this page gave the date as November 19, 2026, and as a Thursday. That was wrong. 29 Cheshvan 5787 falls on Monday, November 9, 2026.
The main ceremony in Jerusalem
The main ceremony takes place each year on the Armon Hanatziv promenade in Jerusalem, led by the kessim. Opening times, buses and the programme are published close to the holiday each year by the local authorities and the organizing bodies — check with them rather than relying on last year's schedule.
Municipal ceremonies
Alongside the Jerusalem ceremony, municipal ceremonies are held in cities with a large community. See the Sigd page and the Sigd menu guide.
