The records-deletion law: exactly what is deleted, for whom, and why there is still no number
We read the statute section by section. It deletes criminal and police records for public-order offences committed up to 31 December 2020, on defined conditions, and requires the police to report to the Constitution Committee how many records were deleted. We could not find that report published anywhere.

In January 2026 the Prime Minister's Office published the summary report of the government programme for the integration of Ethiopian-Israelis for 2023–2024. The health chapter sets out what was built, what was only partly delivered, and what is still missing — including the exact number of Amharic interpreters staffing the Health Ministry's information line.

The Central Elections Committee's statutory timetable lists section 53a: the last day to file a petition over exclusion from the voter register is Friday, 11 September 2026 — 46 days before the election. Decisions on those petitions are due by 2 October 2026.

The Kiryat Gat family court annulled the will of an Ethiopian immigrant (arrived 1998, died 2021 at 93) after the witness listed as "translator" admitted in testimony that he only signed and never actually translated the document to her. The judge ordered the beneficiary grandchild to pay 35,000 ILS in costs.
